Benue Governor Gifts Two Cows to Lobi Stars Goalkeeper Lucky Abdullahi

In a commendable move to support Lobi Stars Football Club, the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, graciously donated four brand new vehicles to the team on Wednesday.

The presentation ceremony, held at the Old Banquet Hall of the Government House in Makurdi, aimed to address the challenges faced by the team while travelling for matches, Footballrover reports.

Governor Alia expressed gratitude to the management, staff, and players for their outstanding achievements, stating that,

Football is very infectious, and I am proud to associate with all of you for making me and this administration proud.”

The vehicles presented include a 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus, two 18-seater Toyota buses, and one Toyota Hilux, offering enhanced mobility for the team.

The governor also gifted two cows and a cash donation to Lobi Stars goalkeeper Lucky Abdullahi, who is soon to be married.

In a bid to motivate the team, the governor approved the payment of 12 months’ outstanding match bonuses.

Governor Alia also assured the team that they would play their matches at the upgraded Aper Aku Stadium, with plans to elevate it to international standards before the end of the current season.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode, acknowledged the Vice Chairman and CEO of the club, Dominic Iorfa, for his invaluable contributions to football administration.

During the event, the Youth, Sports, and Creativity Commissioner, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyiange, handed over the keys of the vehicles to the VC on behalf of the government, thanking Governor Alia for alleviating the club’s challenges.

In response, VC/CEO Dominic Iorfa expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged loyalty and support to the administration.

The team captain, Daniel Atsaka, conveyed the players’ appreciation to the governor and his deputy for consistent support and a conducive environment.

As a symbol of gratitude, jerseys carrying the inscriptions Alia 01 and Ode 02 were presented to Governor Alia and his deputy.
