Barcelona head coach – Xavi declared his adoration for former Bayern striker – Robert Lewandowski just after the forward scored a hat-trick in their 5-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday night.

Lewandowski picked up his first hat-trick in his team’s Champions League group stage opener against Viktoria Plzen in midweek, continuing his strong start to life at Camp Nou.

Barcelona’s new era in the Champions League began with a convincing victory as Xavi’s drastically changed team defeated the Czech champions by a scoreline of four goals.

Viktoria Plzen had a good start to the game, but the Catalan club overcame the challenge with the aid of Pedri, Dembele, and hat-trick hero Lewandowski at his ruthless form.

Lewandowski has scored five La Liga goals in only four matches since joining Barcelona this summer, proving that he has little trouble locating the back of the net.

Overall, Barca did a good job; the visitors still have a number of challenging tasks to complete in the upcoming weeks.
