While speaking to Diario Sport, attacker explained his decision to join the Spanish giants.
“I think it’s been too long for Barcelona without winning titles, I’m sure we’re going to win them. When I first learned that Barcelona were interested in bringing me to the club, I thought it was the perfect moment, for me and the club. In the Bundesliga, it went well, it was a great experience for me, but I knew it was a step forward for my career to go to La Liga.” – he said.
After joining Xavi’s new squad in an effort to bolster the team, Lewandowski’s season-opening match against Rayo Vallecano ended in a scoreless draw, obviously wasn’t what he had hoped for.
“I didn’t want to play all my life in one league. Bundesliga was nice, I felt good there. But I knew it was time to move to La Liga and take a step forward in my career.” – He added
Lewandowski will surely be hoping for a better result when he travels with his side to face Real Sociedad at the Estadio Anoeta on Sunday.
Lewandowski futher noted;
“This is a big challenge for me, but I’m ready for it. I have adapted to the system and I will start scoring goals in the coming matches.”
