Despite getting his name on the scoresheet with a consolation goal during their Premier League match on Saturday, Kelechi Iheanacho couldn’t help but watch Man City plunge his Leicester City team further into relegation.
The former Man City youngster and his Super Eegles teammate, Wilfred Ndidi both featured in Leicester City’s defeat away at the Etihad.
At the Etihad, City crushed the relegation battling Leicester 3-1 courtesy of three goals in the first half.
A goal from Stones and two goals from Haaland set up the victory for the home side even as City slowed down in the second half.
Iheanacho gave Leicester a slim hope with consolation goal and things almost went wrong late on for City when Maddison blew a golden one-on-one situation before Iheanacho hit the post in stoppage time.
However, Leicester’s chances were unsuccessful, and they are still in the relegation spot.
With the win, Pep Guardiola’s team is keeping up the pressure and currently sits only three points behind Arsenal in the Premier League standings.
Next, City will play again in the Champions League when they travel to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their quarterfinal matchup.
At the other end, Kelechi Iheanacho and his teammates will play again the following Saturday when they host Wolves in their battle for survival.
