The 24-year-old, who currently plays for Udinese in Serie A, recently admitted that playing in the Premier League is a dream of his—and not just for any club, but for Chelsea, Footballrover reports.

In a recent interview, Okoye opened up about his aspirations, offering insight into his football journey and personal preferences.

He confessed that Chelsea has always had a special place in his heart, making them his top choice should the opportunity to play in the Premier League arise.

Okoye’s ambition to play for EPL team comes at a time when he has been excelling in Serie A with Udinese.

Of course, playing in the Premier League is a dream for me. For me in the Premier League, it’s Chelsea. I am not a Chelsea fan, but I always kind of supported Chelsea. I wouldn’t say Chelsea is my team because my teams are in Germany, but in England, Chelsea is my team,” the goalie said.

Though he acknowledged that London side is his preferred Premier League destination, he also made it clear that his commitment to his current club remains steadfast.

But I’m in the Serie A right now. I’m at Udinese, and I’m very, very happy here, and I really fell in love with not just the Italian type of football but also the Italian way of living. I’m planning to stay here and enjoy my time in Italy,” he added.

After a challenging spell at Watford, Okoye’s career took a positive turn following his move to Udinese in 2023, where he has regained form and confidence.

With 33 appearances and eight clean sheets under his belt this season, Okoye’s influence at Udinese has been solid.

However, the goalkeeper’s comments about the Blues reveal that he has not forgotten his Premier League ambitions.
