Isaac Success wasted no time in making his mark for Al-Wasl, delivering a game-winning goal to kickoff his first day in office with a pass mark.
The Nigerian striker’s goal came late in the AFC Champions League encounter against Al-Gharafa at the Al Bayt Stadium, sealing a crucial away win, Footballrover reports.
His debut could not have been scripted any better, and it promises to be a thrilling chapter in his career.
After being released by Udinese in August, Isaac Success joined Al-Wasl in October as a free agent.
His debut on Tuesday proved he was the missing piece for Milos Milojevic’s side, coming on as a substitute and securing all three points with a clinical 92nd-minute strike.
The match had been finely poised after Fabio Lima’s late equaliser, following an earlier goal from Al-Gharafa’s Ferjani Sassi.
But it was Isaac Success who stole the show, snatching victory in dramatic fashion.
Al-Wasl now sits fifth in the standings, with two wins from three matches, thanks in large part to Success’ impact.
Isaac Success shines on his Al-Wasl debut
Isaac Success was introduced in the 78th minute, replacing Siaka Sidibe, and it didn’t take long for him to prove his worth.
His decisive goal not only highlighted his finishing ability but also his all-round contribution in limited time on the pitch.
The 28-year-old managed 11 touches and completed two of his three passes, with one of them setting up the match-winner.
His 67% pass accuracy, combined with three successful ground duels, displayed his tactical awareness and physical presence.
