Nigerian defender Igoh Ogbu played a crucial role as Slavia Prague dominated Royale Union SG during their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round first leg match on Wednesday night.
In front of a packed Fortuna Arena, Slavia Prague took control of the tie with a convincing 3-1 win, thanks to a brace from Tomas Chory before Oscar Dorley wrapped things up, Footballrover reports.
The 24-year-old defender featured prominently in the match, proving a tough nut to crack at the back.
Slavia Prague started strong, with an early goal through Tomas Chory, who scored on his debut barely 19 minutes into the game.
Just a minute before the interval, the 29-year-old Czech Republic forward and summer signing doubled his tally of the game.
By halftime, Slavia Prague had already established a solid 2-0 lead, much to the delight of their home supporters.

The second period of the game saw RUSG attempt to mount a comeback, but Ogbu and his teammates remained resolute.
Just 12 minutes in, Oscar Dorley scored for the home team to compound the misery of their visitors before Alexandr Buzek managed to pull a consolation goal back for his side.
Five minutes before the end of regulation, Ghanaian striker Mohammed Fuseini was given the order to march, bringing his team down to 10 men. This was another smack in the face for Royale Union SG.

The scoreline now makes the return leg a challenging prospect for the Belgians.
The second leg of the tie will take place next week, with RUSG needing a significant turnaround to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Meanwhile, Slavia Prague will aim to build on this impressive victory and continue their journey towards the group stages of the tournament.
But before then, Igoh Ogbu and his teammates will have to host Sigma Olomouc in the Czech Republic Chance Liga 4th round of matches on Saturday.
