Despite another impressive performance on Saturday evening, the Nigerian forward could only watch as her team succumbed to defeat in a thrilling encounter that saw six goals, footballrover reports.

Her latest goal follows a remarkable achievement, where she scored Super Falcons’ first-ever goal against France’s Les Bleus in their international friendly last Saturday.

Montpellier entered the match eager to build on their 2-0 win against Saint-Étienne, where Onumonu’s second-half strike had sealed the victory.

They quickly took the lead against Dijon when Marie Levasseur scored in the opening five minutes.

However, Dijon responded fiercely, with Viktoria Pinther and Malgorzata Grec putting the hosts 2-1 up before the break.

The second half saw Montpellier’s hopes further dashed as Klaudia Jedlinska extended Dijon’s lead to 3-1 in the 54th minute.

Before Onumonu’s 75th-minute goal brought Montpellier back into the contest, but it was short-lived.

Meriame Terchoun’s goal nine minutes from stoppage time sealed the 4-2 win for Dijon, leaving Montpellier with their second defeat in five matches.
