Nigerian forward Elijah Adebayo once again displayed his goal-scoring ability, but his fourth goal of the season couldn’t save Luton Town from another disappointing result on Saturday evening.
The Super Eagles prospect put his team ahead, but Luton Town’s struggles persisted as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Swansea City, footballrover reports.
This marked their fourth draw of the season, leaving them stuck in the lower half of the Championship table.
Elijah Adebayo’s goal can’t halt Luton Town’s stumbling form
Adebayo, who had netted in Luton’s previous match against Norwich City, found the back of the net once more in the 17th minute of today’s encounter at Kenilworth Road.
His opening goal gave Luton Town a 1-0 lead at halftime, as they hoped to bounce back from two consecutive defeats to Leeds United and Norwich.
However, just 19 minutes into the second half, Swansea’s Matt Grimes equalised, and Luton Town’s brief optimism was quickly dashed.
Despite another solid performance from Adebayo, who has now scored in back-to-back games, the encounter ended in a draw.
The 26-year-old Nigerian was substituted in the 65th minute after an injury scare, with Jacob Brown replacing him.
Luton Town’s struggles continue as they have only secured one win in their last five matches, including three defeats.
A long road ahead for Luton Town
Luton Town’s ongoing struggles since their relegation from the Premier League continue to weigh heavily on the team’s prospects.
With only 19 points, they sit in 18th place, facing a tough upcoming match against Stoke City.
The Hatters must find their rhythm quickly if they are to turn around their staggering season and climb out of the relegation zone.
