From the Baltic shores to football fans worldwide, the names Henry Uzochukwu and Idris Momoh are echoing after a stellar performance in Lithuania’s A Lyga.

The Nigerian duo were instrumental on Sunday evening, spearheading FK Suduva’s commanding home victory over Riteriai in a match that ended 4-1, Footballrover reports.

Henry Uzochukwu’s midfield magic fuels victory

The game saw FK Suduva in blistering form right from the kickoff at the Marijampole Football Arena.

Sidy Mohamed Sanokho drew first blood in the 4th minute, setting the stage for a dominant first-half display.

Then, in the 26th minute, Uzochukwu showed off his prowess, netting the second goal with a clinical finish, further strengthening Suduva’s lead.

Before the break, Frankline Tangiri added a third in the 43rd minute, sending the home crowd into excitement.

Riteriai managed to pull one back through Armandas Sveistrys around the hour mark, sparking a glimmer of hope for a comeback.

However, any such aspirations were swiftly extinguished in the final minutes, thanks to the impactful introduction of another Nigerian talent.

Idris Momoh’s late strike seals the deal

Coming off the bench in the 78th minute, substitute Momoh made an immediate impact.

Just nine minutes after his introduction, in the 87th minute, Momoh wrapped up the scoring, slotting the ball home after a clever assist from none other than Uzochukwu.

This goal not only secured the emphatic 4-1 victory for FK Suduva but also highlighted the seamless teamwork between the two Nigerian players.

This win marks FK Suduva’s second consecutive victory and extends their unbeaten streak to an impressive nine matches (six wins and three draws).

They now sit third in the league table with 28 points after 14 games, trailing the leaders Kauno Zalgiris by a mere two points.

It’s worth knowing that 20-year-old Momoh now has two goals and one assist in his eight appearances this season, while the 26-year-old defender Uzochukwu also boasts two goals and one assist in his 12 outings for FK Suduva.

Their next crucial encounter will be against league leaders Kauno Zalgiris on June 13th.
