Nigerian wonderkid Gift Orban has completed his highly anticipated move to Olympique Lyonnais from K.A.A. Gent in a deal worth €13 million.
The 22-year-old striker, known for his blistering pace and clinical finishing, has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract with the French giants, extending his stay until June 2028, Footballrover reports.
The transfer, confirmed by renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, marks another coup for Lyon’s ambitious new owner, John Textor.
???????????? Gift Orban to Olympique Lyon, here we go! Deal done for €13m fee to Gent.
Deal strongly wanted by John Textor, one more top signing after Malick Fofana.

It follows the recent capture of Malick Fofana and further bolsters their attacking options.
Romano also revealed that Lyon remains interested in securing the services of Saïd Benrahma and Arnaut Danjuma.
Orban, whose lightning-quick hat-trick in just 3 minutes and 25 seconds holds the record for the fastest treble in UEFA club competitions, had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.
However, Lyon’s determination and €13 million offer proved too tempting for Gent to resist, especially considering the striker’s perceived dip in form since Spurs’ unsuccessful €30 million bid in the summer.
A versatile attacker comfortable playing across the front three, Orban has already bagged 12 goals in 30 games this season, boasting an impressive 2.1 strikes per 90 minutes.
His clinical finishing is complemented by his accuracy of 49% of shots on target and dribbling prowess with a 72% success rate.
He’s also a creative force, averaging 2.58 actions leading to a shot per game.
Orban’s arrival will surely inject some exciting pace and firepower into Lyon’s attack, adding another dimension to their squad.
With Textor’s financial backing and astute transfer strategy, Lyon are shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with in Ligue 1 and beyond.
