Naija Ratels FC’s star defender, Ebi Onome, has expressed sheer delight and gratitude for her rejuvenating experience back in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
In a heartfelt acknowledgment, she credited President Paul Edeh and the entire Naija Ratels Football Club for orchestrating an unforgettable journey that’s allowed her to relish the league once again, Footballrover reports.
Following their 2-1 victory over the Adamawa Queens, the elated 40-year-old Super Falcons defender took to social media to share her sentiments.
“Yes, I’ve been enjoying this ride so far, and I want to use this opportunity to say a very big thank you to the president of Naija Ratels FC, Paul Edeh, and the entire team, Naija Ratels Football Club, for making this a memorable and enjoyable journey for me to come back home and truly experience and enjoy the league again,” she said.
Atume Doorsuur swiftly netted the opener for Ratels within two minutes, only for Adunola Latifat to level the score just before halftime.
Eventually, an own goal from Anani Oluwaseun secured the crucial victory for the home team in the second half.
“I never thought it would be this smooth, easy, and comfortable for me to adjust, but guess what? I am enjoying every moment and even playing games back to back, and we finally had our first win against Adamawa Queens. We keep going stronger, team. Find joy in all you do and be happy; football is my identity,” the defender added.
This victory marks Onome Ebi’s side’s first win of the season, steering them clear of consecutive losses while condemning their opponents to a third defeat.
The Super Falcons star and her new teammates at Naija Ratels have now moved to the sixth spot in the NWFL Group A standings, accumulating three points in a promising start.
