Following a recent setback, the Rovers have regained their winning form, Footballrover reports

Initially securing a narrow 1-0 home win against Stormers SC in their season opener, the Samson Unuanel side later suffered a 2-1 defeat to 1472 FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, with Tony Ayang netting their sole goal.

Coming into their encounter against Smart City, the Calabar-based team aimed to bounce back to winning ways, which they achieved convincingly.

The clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Conference A witnessed Omolabi Owolabi grabbing the crucial goal, an important home win from a spot kick.

The forward converted the penalty kick barely 24 minutes into the second half after a tense first period with no goals.

This victory propels the Pride of Cross River to third place in the standings with six points, trailing table-toppers Madiba FC by just one point.

Looking forward, the Calabar Boys aim to secure a return to the Nigeria Premier League.

They face Dakkada FC, a former NPFL side, in matchday four clash at Uyo Township Stadium, carrying substantial momentum and hoping to secure at least a point on the road.
