The dismal 6-3 loss to Manchester City by Manchester United is nothing else but a poor day at the office for the team, Christian Eriksen laments.
Erling Haaland and Phil Foden each scored a hat trick as Manchester City completely crushed their biggest rivals – Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in under 45 minutes.
Christian Eriksen and his team mates entered the Manchester derby with four straight victories, but they were soundly defeated by City, with the game’s outcome being sealed by hat tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.
The Norwegian international put on yet another clinical performance in goal-scoring with a spectacular double strike, and it was Haaland’s assists that helped Foden reach the milestone of fifty goals.

After the game, the former Tottenham star – Christian Eriksen acknowledged that it was challenging to accept the defeat, in an interview with Sky Sports.
“It came very heavy. I think everyone feels that it was a very bad day at the office. I think we started on the wrong foot, they had a lot of chances straight from [the start of] the game. I think we can only blame ourselves for not really coming into the game at any point.” – he said.
The midfielder added;
“We missed a bit of courage to play out from the back and we let them play to their strengths, so I think the main focus after this game will be on ourselves. There’s a lot of things we need to change, a lot of things we need to do better. Today was far from acceptable for what we should be doing.”
