Chelsea have quickly reached an agreement with their Premier League counterpart – Aston Villa to sign Carney Chukwuemeka, who is thought to be valued up to £20 million after hijacking the Barcelona target.
Surprisingly, Chukwuemeka’s transfer to Stamford Bridge was announced earlier on Tuesday after the player traveled to London for a club medical.
Since the 18-year-old made it obvious to Villa that he would not sign a new contract to replace one that was set to expire in June of next year, he has become one of the most sought-after talents in England.

Footballrover gathered that most of the big teams have expressed interest in the midfielder, with Barcelona spearheading the chase for Carney Chukwuemeka before Chelsea made a bid.
On his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Thomas Tuchel influenced the outcome of events even after AC Milan pledged to offer the player a key position but the player ultimately chose Chelsea due to Tuchel.
Following a meeting with the Chelsea coach, Carney Chukwuemeka’s agents, and family last week, Thomas Tuchel believes he can start helping the squad right now.
Villa had previously received offers from Milan and Barcelona that combined for a potential value of €15 million (£12.5 million). Both offers were heavily incentived, though.
However, Chelsea got in touch with Villa last Friday, and their co-owner Todd Boehly dealt directly with Christian Purslow, the chief executive of the club, to strike an agreement on an initial fee of £10 million with a further £10 million in prospective add-ons.
Chukwuemeka, who has played for Villa in 14 Premier League games with two starts, will now try to reach a personal deal with Chelsea.
Villa and Chelsea announced jointly on Tuesday that they had agreed on the amount, despite the fact that it is rare for this to take place before the player has agreed to terms.

Carney Chukwuemeka, his family, and agents are all in London. In order to be announced this week as the new Chelsea player for a £15 million charge and add-ons up to a £20 million package, he will undertake medical tests today.
Along with these additions, Chelsea is also getting closer to signing Marc Cucurella after agreeing to match Brighton’s value of the wing-back at £50 million.
