The Nigerian star couldn’t contain his excitement after scoring on his La Liga debut for Getafe in a thrilling 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao.
The 21-year-old’s header in the second half salvaged a point for his side at the intimidating San Mamés Stadium.
Speaking just after the game, an extremely excited Uche said with heavy breath and a cheering scene,
“I feel so good. I’m excited. To score a goal on my debut is amazing, man; I’m really happy.”
Uche, who joined Getafe during the summer transfer window, was trusted by manager José Bordalás with a starting role.
The decision paid off when the highly-rated plauer delivered a powerful header from a corner kick, levelling the scores and preventing what could have been a disappointing defeat.
Oihan Sancet had initially handed the hosts an early lead with a stunning long-range effort. However, Getafe responded with so much determination from the Nigerian.
His goal came just 19 minutes into the second half.
The 21-year-old Uche rose to the occasion, connecting with Luis Milla’s corner to score the equaliser and shift the momentum back in Getafe’s favour.
Despite Athletic Club’s late attempts to reclaim the lead, the match ended in a stalemate.
