Nwaiwu adds depth to Trabzonspor defence
During his time in Austria, Nwaiwu stood out for his consistency, physical strength, and strong reading of the game.
Comfortable playing across the backline, he quickly became a reliable presence for Wolfsberger AC after joining from Enyimba in 2024.
The Black Sea Storm see the Nigerian defender as a key addition as they aim to strengthen their defence for both domestic and European challenges.
“I’m so happy the deal came to a conclusion. I can’t wait to meet you guys the amazing fans. I’m happy to be part of the team, I’m very very happy,” he told fans of the club.
At the Black Sea Storm, Nwaiwu will link up with fellow Nigerians Paul Onuachu, Kazeem Olaigbe, and Anthony Nwakaeme.
The move marks another step forward in Nwaiwu’s steady rise as he was part of the Enyimba side that won the NPFL title in the 2022/23 season and later lifted the Austrian Cup in the 2024/25 campaign with Wolfsberger AC.
Now in Turkey, Nwaiwu will look to make an immediate impact as Trabzonspor push for success on multiple fronts.
