The 34-year-old put up a stunning performance to help Carlo Ancelotti’s team beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

With a thunder header, Benzema put the visitors ahead 21 minutes into the encounter. After a one-two with the Frenchman, Vinicius was freed in behind on the left flank and flicks a superb cross into Benzema’s path.

Madrid’s top scorer scored a superb header past Mendy to give the visitors the lead.

Three minutes later, the Frenchman doubled his tally of the night.

Stamford Bridge was silent as Benzema drew away from Silva and headed Modric’s right-wing cross past Mendy and into the bottom-right corner, completing an incredible quick-fire double for the Madrid number nine.

However, Havertz managed to pull a goal back for the Blues five minutes before halftime.

James glides through from the right flank and picks out Jorginho, whose magnificent cross was met by Havertz, who heads past Courtois to give Chelsea a chance to get back into the game.

Kai Havertz scored his third headed goal of the game, heading past Courtois to cut the deficit in half.

Real Madrid made it 3-1 with Benzema’s hat-trick just a minute into the second half. The hosts had a disastrous start to the second half, with Mendy’s poor pass to Rudiger allowing Benzema to roll into an empty net.

The Frenchman took advantage of a blunder by Edouard Mendy to restore the visitors’ two-goal lead. For the Frenchman, it’s back-to-back hattricks in the UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid halted their winless run against Chelsea, having faced the Blues more times than any other team in European competition without ever winning (five times).
