Matheus Cunha stole the show with a stunning hat-trick as Wolverhampton Wanderers thrashed Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, mirroring Nwankwo Kanu’s legendary feat from 1999.
The Blues conceded four goals for the second consecutive game, plunging them into the bottom half of the Premier League table, Footballrover reports.
Chelsea started brightly, grabbing the lead through Cole Palmer’s composed finish in the 19th minute.
However, their joy was short-lived as Cunha equalised just three minutes later, his shot taking a wicked deflection off Thiago Silva.

Lady Luck continued to desert the Blues as Rayan Ait-Nouri’s effort deflected off Axel Disasi and past goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, gifting Wolves an own goal.
Cunha wasn’t done yet, sweeping home a delightful team move just past the hour mark to extend Wolves’ lead.
He then sealed his hat-trick with a penalty he won and converted himself eight minutes from stoppage time.
According to Optajoe, Cunha’s goals landed his name in the history books, becoming only the fourth visiting player to score a Premier League hat-trick at Stamford Bridge after Kanu (Arsenal, 1999), Robin van Persie (Arsenal, 2011), and Sergio AgĆ¼ero (Manchester City, 2016).
However, Thiago Silva managed to pull one back for Chelsea in the 84th minute, but Wolves held firm to secure a deserved 4-2 victory.
