Before the start of his first preseason as manager of Manchester United, new manager Erik ten Hag is claimed to have given his team five new rules and guidelines.
Ten Hag arrived United from Ajax this summer and is already putting in a lot of effort to develop the team, which will compete in the Europa League next season after recording their lowest points total in the Premier League era.
Rumors of a dressing-room leak plagued United frequently last season, with details about interim manager Ralf Rangnick and the team constantly making their way into the media.
According to The Mirror, Ten Hag has cautioned the players that if they are found disclosing information to the media, their futures with the first squad will be gone.
In addition, players have been informed that irrespective of their position in the locker room, they would be dropped if they arrive late for training.
Alcohol is also prohibited during the weeks leading up to games, and Ten Hag does not accept any justifications based on the physical state of the players.
In an effort to make the meal at the Carrington training facility healthier, he has also changed it.
The manager prefers to have the same chef prepare meals for the entire team as opposed to the players using their own private cooks.
To make sure they stay in top physical form, players have been given their own customized meal programs and will have their Body Mass Indexes evaluated regularly.
Ten Hag is also claimed to have advised players to contact him immediately to discuss any concerns instead of turning to their agents first, knowing that his ideas would come across as severe.
Erik ten Hag’s five Man Utd commandments:
🧑🏻🦲 Dropped if late for meeting or training regardless of status
🧑🏻🦲 No alcohol during gameweeks
🧑🏻🦲 Use club chefs/overhauled menu over personal chefs
🧑🏻🦲 Monthly BMI checks
🧑🏻🦲 Go to EtH with problems before agents
He is eager to forge wholesome bonds with those around him and to set the high expectations that, in his opinion, will elevate United back to the top of the sport.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is prepared to depart this summer and is the subject of attention from Chelsea, may not be joining him on that rebuilding journey.
