Bendel Insurance battled Gombe United to a scoreless draw on Sunday at the Pantami Township Stadium, maintaining its unblemished record in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

After 16 games in the top flight this season, the Benin Arsenal, who failed to score for the second time in the 2022/23 campaign (against Gombe United, home and away), are still very much unbeaten.

The Monday Odigie team is currently two victories away from matching Akwa United’s record for the longest unbeaten streak (18 games) in the NPFL.

Meanwhile, Imade Osehenkhoe of Bendel Insurance, who has scored over eight goals so far this season, will also be aiming for a strong finish after trailing the NPFL’s top goal scorers, Chukwuemeka Obioma of Enyimba and Mizo Robert of Bayelsa United, by only one goal.

At the other end, Enyimba and Akwa United are also vying for the final two positions in group A, and they are looking to do so with as much momentum as possible.

Enyimba defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in Maiduguri on Saturday to earn the day’s only away victory, while Akwa United lost to Remo Stars by a razor-thin margin.
