Shola and his former teammate at Kwara United, Alalade Wasiu, reunited during their NPFL clash, but the 23-year-old Lobi Stars midfielder and his colleagues managed to steal the vital points.
The lone goal from Francis Odinaka was all the Lobi Stars needed to edge out Shola and his teammates in the keenly contested NPFL clash at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
Shola took to his social media page shortly after the North-Central Derby match to share his pleasure at seeing his friend and brother again.
“So happy to see you once again, my brother Alalade Wasiu.” – Shola wrote.
Despite the away defeat, Shola claimed it was a “very good game” at the New Jos Stadium and appreciated God for shielding him from any injuries.
“A very good game today at jos, we thank God Almighty for injury-free.” – he wrote
With two games remaining against Sunshine Stars and Bayelsa United, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder and his Niger Tornadoes team will now be focused on a successful end to the season.
While an NPFL Playoff spot is almost certain, Alalade Wasiu and his teammates at Lobi Stars will also be striving for a strong finish.
They are still in first place with 29 points after 16 games in the shortened NPFL Group B table, their next two games will pit them against Dakkada FC and Wikki Tourists, two teams that have already been demoted.
