The Makurdi-based team’s playoff ambitions were strengthened further by the midfielder’s long-range goal, which differentiated both teams in a closely contended match.
The defensive midfield’s long-range goal in the second half gave the table-toppers a 1-0 victory over their bitter rivals, the Niger Tornadoes, in Plateau State.
In one of the NPFL most anticipated games over the weekend, both teams were aware that a win would put them in a respectable position to maintain their position at the top of the standings as the league season edges closer to a wrap.
The tight victory over the Minna team, however, allowed the Makurdi team to go a step closer to playoff qualification by guaranteeing them a spot in the Super Six as time ran out.
