Every striker in the Nigerian Premier League dreams of reaching the top, and Bayelsa United’s forward, Robert Mizo, is no exception as he’s determined to secure the NPFL top scorer spot.
Robert Mizo and his Bayelsa United team have faced challenges, enduring three defeats against Doma United, Remo Stars, and Niger Tornadoes, footballrover reports
Despite these setbacks, Bayelsa United currently sits in the 11th position, three points clear of the relegation zone. Yet, Mizo is leading the NPFL scoring charts with five goals.
Robert Mizo expressed his delight after helping Bayelsa United secure a 2-1 victory over Kwara United last Sunday.
This match marked his fourth appearance of the season and the second since he scored a hat-trick on the opening day.

In this game, the 23-year-old scored a brace, enabling the Prosperity Boys to bounce back from three consecutive defeats.
His goals came in the 11th and 33rd minutes, bringing his total to five goals this season.
Mizo was satisfied and excited about his performance, emphasizing his commitment to contributing more goals to his team.
He also shared his joy in scoring at their home stadium and how it benefits the team:
“It’s something I want to add to my game—more goals—so it was nice to get two. It’s always an amazing feeling to score a goal, especially at a stadium like ours, and I’m glad I can help the team with two goals,” he said.
The striker emphasized the importance of returning to scoring after two disappointing games and the confidence his coach has shown in him:
“It was really nice to return to scoring after our last two games ended in disappointment. Obviously, it was my fourth appearance of the season, and it was nice to get out there and in the attack. It’s nice to know that the boss has faith in me up there,” the forward added
Robert Mizo now looks forward to maintaining his scoring form as Bayelsa United faces Kano Pillars later today in matchday six of the Nigerian League.
