Heartland FC captain Nnaemeka Anyanwu extends a heartfelt message to fans of the Owerri team, expressing regret for their underwhelming performance in the current Nigerian League season.

The resolute defender reassured fans of the Owerri side that the team is fully committed to turning things around, starting with their upcoming match against Rivers United, Footballrover reports
The defender stated this while speaking to the club’s media ahead of their clash against the former NPFL Champions, Rivers United.
“We are sorry about our not-too-good start to the season. We are ready to make amends, and that will start with our game against Rivers United,” Nnaemeka said.
Anyanwu emphasized the need to rectify the errors from their past games and enhance their offensive prowess, admitting that they were more forceful in attack.
“We can do it if we do away with some of the errors we have made during games and are also more forceful in attack,” the defender said.
On matchday six, the NPFL newcomers will be facing the Stanley Eguma side, having yet to secure a victory in the league, with three draws and two losses in their recent matches.
The 35-year-old defender acknowledged the significance of their loyal fans and supporters during these challenging times and assured them that the team is working diligently to overcome their current struggles.
“It is this time that we need our fans and supporters behind us. We will continue to work hard to get over our difficulties and challenges,” he affirmed.
The former Lobi Star player also offered a guarantee that they will make things right this time and urged fans to show up in large numbers at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri to bolster their pursuit of victory, stressing that their support is crucial at this juncture.
“We shall get it right. Let them come to Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri tomorrow to cheer us on to victory. It is what we need at this point in time,” he.concluded.
