It was indeed a tough night in Norway for Nigerian midfielder Abduljeleel Abdulateef, who came off the bench to assist Odd BK’s only goal but couldn’t prevent a painful 3-1 defeat to Ranheim in the OBOS-ligaen.

Despite making an instant impact, his efforts weren’t enough to change the outcome, as Odd continued their winless run in the Norwegian First Division, Footballrover reports.
Abduljeleel Abdulateef Makes Impact, but Odd BK Falls Short
The 19-year-old forward entered the match in the 72nd minute, replacing Tobias Svendsen.
Just six minutes after stepping onto the pitch, he delivered a sharp assist to Hinrik Hardarson, pulling one back for the visitors.

But despite that moment of brilliance, The Odd Men were already trailing 2-0, and their comeback hopes were short-lived.
The match started in favour of the hosts as The Red Shirts opened the scoring in the 26th minute through Seydina Diop.
Two minutes later, Jonas Pereira doubled the lead, giving the home side a strong 2-0 cushion heading into halftime at the Ranheim Extra Arena.
Ranheim Punish Odd Despite Abdulateef’s Effort
As the second half progressed, The Odd Ones tried to find their rhythm. And thanks to Abdulateef, they had a brief spark of hope.

His contribution proved his value and potential once again, even if it didn’t turn the game around.
Unfortunately, Rødtrøyene sealed the win with a third goal deep into added time.
Erik Tonne struck in the 94th minute, putting the game beyond reach and securing all three points for the home side.
The result marked Odd BK’s 14th league game of the season and yet another disappointment, as they now sit 8th on the Norwegian First Division table with just 19 points.
This defeat adds to a worrying streak—three draws and two losses in their last five matches—with no victory in sight.
What’s Next for Abdulateef and His Teammates?
Despite the current struggles, the future still looks bright for the Nigerian, who continues to show promise and maturity beyond his age.

As The Odd Boys prepare for their next match against Stabaek, they’ll need more than just individual brilliance to get back to winning ways.
The whole team must regroup, recover, and fight to end their poor run of form.
For now, all eyes remain on Abdulateef, as he continues to grow into a key player for Odd in their push to climb the table.
And as always, Footballrover will keep an eye.
