Geoffrey Chinedu and Daniel Francis stole the spotlight in Europe with impressive performances that powered their respective clubs to crucial league victories.
The Nigerian duo dazzled on foreign soil, showing class, composure, and a hunger for goals in the Kazakhstan Premier League and Austria Landesliga, Footballrover reports.
Geoffrey Chinedu strikes early, claims MOTM in Kazakhstan
FC Astana’s 2-1 win over Atyrau had Geoffrey Chinedu written all over it.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward delivered a Man of the Match performance, netting twice in the first half to put his side firmly in control at the Astana Arena.
It took Geoffrey Chinedu just two minutes to make an impact, opening the scoring with a clinical finish.
As the first half drew to a close, he struck again—doubling the lead with another well-timed goal that showed his striker’s instinct.
Chinedu was eventually subbed off in the 84th minute for Ramazan Karimov, having already done enough to earn top honours.
Despite a late response from 39-year-old Miram Sapanov, who scored for the visitors, Chinedu’s brace ensured FC Astana walked away with all three points.
Daniel Francis wraps it up for FC Wacker
In Austria, Daniel Francis also had a night to remember, capping Wacker Innsbruck’s dominant 3-0 away win over SV Wörgl with a confident finish.
The 21-year-old midfielder entered the spotlight in Matchday 20 of the Austria Tirol, rounding off the scoring just three minutes after Okan Yilmaz had doubled their lead.
Earlier, Adrian Lechl had given the visitors a 1-0 edge going into halftime.
Francis played a key role in extending Wacker Innsbruck’s unbeaten streak to seven matches—five wins and two draws.
