Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen bagged a brilliant hat-trick as Napoli dominated Sassuolo with a resounding 6-1 victory at the iconic Mapei Stadium-Citta del Tricolore on Wednesday.

Osimhen’s stellar performance comes on the heels of his outstanding form since returning from the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Footballrover reports.

In the crucial Serie A showdown against Sassuolo, Napoli, guided by manager Francesco Calzona, aimed to bounce back from their recent string of draws.

With Champions League qualification aspirations hanging in the balance, the Partenopeans unleashed a masterful display, led by Osimhen’s clinical finishing.

The thrilling encounter saw Napoli reignite their campaign with a statement win, reigniting their pursuit of a coveted Champions League spot.

Osimhen scored three goals in less than twenty minutes. 

The Napoli goal machine finished his goal-scoring streak barely two minutes into the second half of the match, following his brace of goals in the first half in the 31st and 41st minutes.

The Nigerian international also provided an assist as Napoli stormed to a big away victory over Sassuolo. 

He has now hit double digits in goals (11) for the league season and has found the back of the net five times in three games since returning from the AFCON.

Osimhen’s heroics not only secured three vital points but also revealed why they are the defending champions.
