Victor Osimhen has quickly become an essential part of Galatasaray’s attack, with his presence often seen as the solution to any challenge on the pitch.
But while the Super Eagles star has dazzled with his leadership and goal-scoring prowess, football legend Ümit Davala believes there’s one key flaw holding him back from reaching perfection in Turkey, Footballrover reports.
There is no doubt Osimhen’s brilliance was on display once again during Galatasaray’s recent 2-2 draw against Eyüpspor at RAMS Park.
Although he didn’t find the back of the net, the Nigerian striker played a crucial role by providing an assist to keep his team in the contest.

His impact has been massive, having contributed directly to goals in nearly every match since his arrival, except for a narrow 1-0 victory over Bodrum FK.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer, Osimhen has scored nine goals and delivered five assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.
His influence has firmly established him as a cornerstone of the squad, with fans praising his ability to carry significant responsibility on the pitch.
Despite his remarkable performances, Ümit Davala—himself a Galatasaray legend and 2002 FIFA World Cup bronze medallist—believes Osimhen has room for improvement.
Reflecting on the Eyüpspor clash, Davala, who spoke on the Assist Analysis Youtube channel, emphasised that greater composure during matches could enable the forward to better exploit scoring opportunities.
“Everyone says, ‘If Osimhen is there, there is no problem’. He already feels that. If he had stayed calm a little longer during the match, I think he could have taken advantage of these positions. We already see that he has taken on a lot of responsibility,” Davala said as quoted by habersarikirmizi.
As Galatasaray continues to push for domestic and continental success, addressing this single flaw could help Osimhen’s game move to greater heights and elevate him as one of the most formidable forwards in Europe.
The Nigerian international, who recently secured an ambassadorial deal with international automobile manufacturer, Nissan Türkiye, becoming the first African player to land such deal in turkey will join his teammates to trade tackles with Sivasspor later this Sunday
