Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen fire blank and narrowly missed scoring a historic goal against Verona during their Serie A clash on Saturday.
Neither team created many chances in the first half, which was quite calm at Stadio Diego Amando Maradona in Naples.
Napoli believed they had scored when Politano’s shot got deflected in, but it was disallowed for offside because the defender was in the way.

The first half ended 0-0 after Meret made an easy save to block Verona’s lone chance on goal.
The second interval was very similar to the first. Verona put up a strong defense as Napoli tried to make a goal.
Osimhen returned from injury and came close to scoring, but all he could manage was to hit the woodwork, leaving the game scoreless.
Osimhen hit the woodwork in the 81st minute of the match after replacing Giacomo Raspadori in the 73rd minute of the second half of round 30 of the Serie A league match.
The game was goalless after 80 minutes when Victor Osimhen got the opportunity to turn the tide for Napoli but saw his effort frustrated by the woodwork.
The game remained scoreless after 90 minutes of regulation time. Napoli leads Serie A with 75 points after 30 matches, while Verona are 18th on the log with 23 points after 30 matches.

Napoli won’t be significantly impacted by the draw because they are still 14 points in front of Lazio in second place, but Verona needed the point badly in their battle for survival.
Prior to playing Juventus the next weekend in the league, Napoli will play Milan in the Champions League.
While Verona will aim to host Bologna in their upcoming match.
