The Super Eagles star scored the opener, and his compatriot, Nathan Tella, also featured for 64 minutes as Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a comfortable 2-0 away win, Footballrover reports
Despite being on the pitch for just 46 minutes, the Nigerian international made his presence felt as Bayer Leverkusen made it five wins in five group stage games in the UEFA Europa League.
In what seems to be his fourth Europa League match this season, the 22-year-old Nigerian made a swift impact at the Nya Ullevi Stadium, requiring only 14 minutes to leave his mark in Group H’s clash.
Despite a strong start from the Bundesliga side, Boniface’s precise positioning allowed him to head home from a Josip Stansic cross, handing Bayer the lead.
This goal marked his fourth in Europa but served as the striker’s first in five games for both club and country. Later, Patrik Schick secured the win with a late strike.
Boniface’s early goal against Hacken anchored yet another triumph for the Xabi Alonso-led squad, proving crucial in the game’s outcome.
