After banging in a hat-trick in their last outing to lead KAA Gent to Europa Conference League glory over Ukrainian side FC Zorya, Nigerian goal machine Gift Orban is back on the score sheet yet again.
The Super Eagles star put out yet another stellar performance, securing a goal that propelled KAA Gent to a resounding victory over Zorya in the Conference League, Footballrover reports
The Thursday night showdown at the Gent Arena saw the Nigerian star score a second-half goal, leading Gent to a 4-1 win in the 5th round of the Group B encounter.
In the eventful and one-sided match, Malick Fofana set the tone by scoring early for the home team, just 20 minutes into the game.
Then, an own goal by Arseniy Batahov doubled their lead before halftime.
The second half saw Gent dominating further, with Gift Orban extending the lead and Omri Gendelman sealing the victory.
Although Denis Nagnoynyi managed to pull one back for the visitors, it only proved to be a consolation goal for the visiting fans to cheer about; it was a commanding win for the home side.
Gift Orban has now scored for the third UECL game in a row, while his compatriot Jordan Torunarigha featured for 45 minutes in KAA Gent’s big home win.
Its FIVE GOALS IN FOUR GAMES as Gift Orban takes over the UECL top scorer chart.
The huge victory keeps KAA Gent fully in charge of their group table with 13 points.
All attention will now shift to their Belgian Pro League game on Sunday as Gift Orban is set to lead his team to the derby clash with Genk.
