After spending over eight months on the sidelines, Terem Moffi finally stepped back onto the pitch, marking an emotional Ligue 1 comeback for Nice.
The Super Eagles forward had been out of action since July 2024 due to a devastating anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury suffered during pre-season, Footballrover reports.
His return came in Nice’s 2-1 defeat to Monaco at Stade Louis II, but the moment carried far more significance than the final scoreline.
Terem Moffi’s long road to recovery ends with a Ligue 1 comeback
Moffi made his long-awaited return in the 82nd minute, coming on when Nice was desperately chasing an equaliser.
Although he couldn’t prevent his side from losing, the match symbolised a personal victory for the Nigerian striker.
Hours after the final whistle, Moffi took to social media to express his gratitude.
“I can only say thank you, Lord Jesus, for everything. See you guys next week,” he shared on Instagram, reflecting the deep emotions tied to his journey back to full fitness.
What’s next for Moffi and his Ligue 1
return journey?
With his first competitive minutes since injury now behind him, Moffi will be aiming to regain full match sharpness.
Next up, Nice faces Moses Simon’s Nantes at Allianz Riviera, a game that could see him play a bigger role.
However, the club is expected to ease him back cautiously to avoid any setbacks.
Despite his prolific nature, Nice has managed well in his absence, meaning Moffi may have to wait before becoming a regular starter again.
Patience will be key, but with determination and careful management, the Super Eagles striker could soon be back to his best, making his Ligue 1 comeback truly complete.
