Super Falcons need more hard work to qualify for WAFCON

Nigerians are still celebrating the Super Falcons two goals hard won victory against the Lady Elephants (Cow) of Cote D’Ivoire during their WAFCON qualifiers.

It was the first leg final round of qualifiers for the Women WAFCON to be hosted by Morocco later this year.

The Falcons claimed a clinical triumph on home ground in the quest for a 12th WAFCON appearance, thanks to a brace from Ifeoma.

Nigeria’s two goals, scored by Ifeoma Onumonu, indeed came against the run of play.

The Ivorians were sharper, and deadlier with the ball than the Super Falcons.

The Nigerian Female Football Team could not keep control of the ball for the greater part of the game.

The Super Falcons midfield was completely overwhelmed by the visiting Female Ivorian Team, and this made Super Falcons build up in the match extremely difficult.

It brought to the fore the team’s seriousness in trainings while in camp. There is no doubt that the Ivorian Female Team will become more dangerous and deadlier at home.Super Falcons tweet

The Super Falcons needs to work harder if they hope to survive the second leg encounter in Abidjan on February 23.
