Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Jennifer Echegini continues to make her mark in France, scoring her 4th goal of the season to help her team cruise past Nantes with a dominant 6-1 victory in the Coupe de France.
Echegini’s impressive form has been instrumental in PSG’s cup campaign, and her latest strike adds more excitement to the huge victory away from home, Footballrover reports.
Echegini’s key contribution in PSG’s commanding win
PSG entered the fixture eager to bounce back after a recent 2-0 defeat to Lyon, and they wasted no time asserting their dominance.
Manssita Traoré opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Jennifer Echegini doubled PSG’s lead in the 15th minute with a well-placed finish, courtesy of an assist from Romée Leuchter.
Despite a response from Nantes’ Danielle Marcano in the 30th minute, PSG took full control in the second half.
Tara Elimbi extended the lead early in the second half, followed by Korbin Albert’s strike just four minutes later.
Leuchter capped off PSG’s emphatic performance with a late brace, securing their spot in the next round.
Jennifer Echegini renews her impact for PSG
Jennifer Echegini has steadily built momentum since joining PSG, scoring her 4th goal of the season across all competitions.
The Nigerian international previously netted a brace in PSG’s 6-1 triumph over Dijon Foot and followed it up with a crucial goal in a 1-1 draw against Chiamaka Nnadozie’s Paris FC.
And in addition to her goal-scoring exploits, Echegini has provided two assists, further highlighting her all-round contribution.
PSG will now aim to carry their winning momentum into their next league fixture against Strasbourg Women on February 1st, with Echegini expected to play also play a part in their continued success.
