Bassey started and completed the full 90 minutes at left-back, putting in a solid defensive shift.

While Iwobi, making his 11th consecutive Premier League campaign appearance, featured from the start but was substituted in the 66th minute after a hard-working display.

The hosts had taken the lead early in the second half when Sander Berge was brought down by Rutter inside the box.

Matt O’Reilly stepped up and sent Bernd Leno the wrong way to hand Brighton the advantage.

Despite falling behind, Fulham kept pushing forward. Kenny Tete’s effort flew over the bar when he should have kept it down, while Emile Smith Rowe came close with a deflected shot.

Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey may not have been on the scoresheet, but their contributions were key as Fulham fought back to rescue a point at Brighton.
