The benchmark for most Premier League assists by an African player now belongs to Riyad Mahrez, who has overtaken Didier Drogba.
Riyad Mahrez produced three significant chances in the first half of Manchester City vs. Liverpool, more than any other player.
The Jürgen Klopp team got off to a fast start at the Etihad with Mo Salah giving the Reds the lead just 17 minutes into the clash, but City soon turned the game around 10 minutes later.
Alvarez swiftly reacted to tap in Grealish’s low cross as City fought back from behind to seal the significant victory.
The Algerian superstar, Mahrez, provided De Bruyne with his record 56 Premier League assists to give City the lead just 53 seconds into the second half. City went on to dominate.
In order to score their third goal, Gundogan capitalized on Alvarez’s blocked shot and found the top corner of the net. Grealish then completed the scoring with a curling effort into the far bottom corner.
