Falconets defender Shukurat Oladipo has taken a major step in her career, sealing a permanent transfer to AS Roma.

The 20-year-old, who impressed at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, now embarks on a new challenge in Italy, Footballrover reports.

With a contract running until June 30, 2027, she is eager to make her mark on the European stage.

Shukurat Oladipo’s journey from FC Robo to AS Roma

Oladipo joins the Italian giants from Nigeria Women’s Football League side FC Robo Queens, a club known for producing top Super Falcons stars like Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Monday Gift.

During her time at FC Robo, the versatile centre-back made 178 appearances across all competitions, establishing herself as a key player.

Her performances at the club level earned her a spot in Nigeria’s squad for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, where she played every minute of the Falconets’ four matches.

She has also made two senior appearances for the Super Falcons, highlighting her rapid rise in Nigerian football.

Oladipo excited for ‘life-changing’ experience at Roma

Speaking about her move to the Italian club, Oladipo expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

“I’m very happy; I feel so excited. It’s a very big opportunity for me to join a very big team like AS Roma,” she told the club’s media.

The young defender believes her time in Italy will not only shape her football career but also contribute to her personal growth.

“Me coming to Italy and playing for AS Roma is a very big, life-changing experience for me. It will help my career grow and also help me grow as a person and a footballer,” she noted.

Looking ahead, Oladipo is determined to help Roma achieve their goals this season while continuing to develop her own game.

“My target is to help the team achieve their objective and plan for the season. My other target is to improve as a player,” the defender said.

Her former club, FC Robo Queens, also celebrated her move, sharing a heartfelt message:
