Al-Jandal delivered a dominant performance in the Saudi First Division, with Chisom Egbuchulam playing a key role in their 3-1 victory over Ohod at the Al Jouf University Stadium on Tuesday.
The Nigerian forward capped off an impressive outing with a crucial goal, helping his side secure back-to-back league wins, Footballrover reports.
Chisom Egbuchulam strikes as Al-Jandal take control
Coming into the match, Al-Jandal aimed to build on their recent 2-0 win over Al Arabi, hoping to turn the tide after a poor run of form that saw them lose three and draw one in their last five outings.
The hosts started strongly, opening the scoring in the 20th minute through Abdullah Matuq.
Just seven minutes later, Chisom Egbuchulam doubled Al-Jandal’s lead with a well-taken strike, giving the home side a comfortable 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The former Enugu Rangers star’s goal marked his seventh of the season, as he continues to show his influence in the team.
Al Jandal hold firm to seal three points
Nine minutes after the restart, Cheick Comara added a third for Al Jandal, effectively sealing the win.
However, Ohod managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Mohammed Harzan, but it was nothing more than a consolation as the hosts wrapped up a well-deserved victory.
Despite the commanding win, Al Jandal remain 11th in the league standings with 27 points, while bottom-placed Ohod continue to struggle.
With nine defeats and eight wins so far this season, Egbuchulam and his teammates will look to build on this momentum when they face Al Najma in their next fixture.
