Enugu Rangers, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier League, have officially announced the signing of Lucky Jimoh Abdullahi from Lobi Stars.

The Coal City club confirmed the acquisition via their social media on Tuesday evening, urging fans to “welcome the latest addition to the family.”

Abdullahi, a highly sought-after goalkeeper, was also on the radar of Shooting Stars, Footballrover reports.

However, Enugu Rangers emerged victorious in securing his signature, bringing the solid shot-stopper into their ranks.

The 28-year-old has signed a two-year contract that will keep him with the Flying Antelopes until 2026.

The seasoned goalkeeper is now at the heart of Enugu as they prepare for their preseason preparations.

With the dual goals of defending their league title and making a formidable run in the CAF Champions League, Abdullahi’s experience and skill set are seen as vital assets.

Previously, Abdullahi has displayed his talent with Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars, marking a significant journey in his NPFL career.

Having featured in 53 NPFL matches, Abdullahi’s prowess on the field has not gone unnoticed.

His performances earned him a spot on the Olympic Eagles, Nigeria’s National U23 team, under the guidance of Samson Siasia on the path to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

In an exclusive interview with Totorinews.com, Abdullahi expressed his joy and optimism about the move.

It feels good to take my career to Rangers International of Enugu. I am very happy and pray that I work hard to contribute my quota to the progress of the team,” he shared.
