In a remarkable show of love, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has honored four outstanding members of the Super Falcons squad with a generous gift of $10,000 each.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, Desire Okparanozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Ohale Osinachi, who represented the state in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, received this commendable reward during a heartwarming reception at the state house.
Despite their valiant performance on the pitch, the Super Falcons encountered a heartbreaking loss in a penalty shootout against the Lionesses.
Nevertheless, Governor Uzodinma demonstrated his unwavering support and encouragement for the team by presenting the monetary reward and offering them a piece of land in their prefered locations within Imo State.
The appreciation for Governor Uzodinma’s gesture was palpable as Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and striker Desire Okparanozie took to social media to express their gratitude.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, who played a pivotal role in the team’s journey, expressed her heartfelt thanks, saying;
“I genuinely want to take a moment to appreciate His Excellency Hope Uzodinma and Her Excellency barrister Chioma uzodinma for the warm reception. We are soo grateful for your support and encouragement,” Chiamaka wrote.
Echoing her appreciation, Desire Okparanozie added;
“Special appreciation to his excellency governor Hope Uzodinma, and her excellency Barrister Chioma Uzodinma for the warm reception. Your commitment to reward hard work and excellence is a true reflection of the great leader that you are. You have indeed raised the bar.”
Recall how the senior Nigerian women’s team battled bravely against the European champions, resulting in a goalless tie that demanded extra time and a penalty shootout.
