Super Falcons star Deborah Abiodun has taken to her social media page to express her excitement after registering her fifth goal of the season for Pittsburgh Panthers.
The Nigerian fast-rising starlet is thrilled to find the back of the net yet again in Pittsburgh’s 3-0 win over Memphis at the Razorback Field, Footballrover reports
The Super Falcons star scored the second goal of the game as Pittsburgh took down Memphis to advance to the NCAA Women’s Soccer quarterfinals stage.
After a goalless first half, both teams resumed the second period with high spirits, hoping to grab the lead.
Barely seven minutes in, the Pittsburgh Panthers took the lead as Sarah Schupansky’s beautifully taken corner kick found Keera Melenhorst in pocket of space, and she executed her effort well to hand her side the lead.
24 minutes later, Deborah Abiodun finished off the ball from Samiah with a simple tap-in to double their lead.
Before Gomes scored in the 88th minute to put the nail in the coffin, thanks to another Coffield free kick to seal the 3-0 win for Pittsburgh.
Deborah Abiodun and her teammates held their defence strong during the night game as they registered their seventh clean sheet of the season.
The 20-year-old Super Falcons midfielder, who played an influential role in Pittsburgh’s victory over Memphis, couldn’t contain her joy after the game and took to her X page (formerly Twitter) to express herself.
Deborah, proud of her team’s collective effort and recent achievement, wrote:

The victory sees Pittsburgh for the first time join the other three Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) teams to advance to the Elite Eight, making up half of the quarterfinalsâthe most among all conferences.
