Ashleigh Plumptre‘s return: A game-changer for Al-Ittihad
Plumptre scored her team’s fifth goal just 15 minutes into the match, adding to the momentum established by her teammates.
The scoring spree began with Seba Tawfiq, followed by Lili Iskandar and Leticia Nunes, who put Al-Ittihad ahead 3-0 before Plumptre struck.
The former Leicester City player assisted goals from Tawfiq, Nunes, and Abdulrazak, further demonstrating her importance in the team’s attack.
Nunes continued to shine, completing her hat trick with two more goals in quick succession. Lana Abdulrazak and Iskandar each added to the tally, allowing Al-Ittihad to take a commanding nine-goal lead by halftime.
In the second half, the relentless attacking football continued as Abdulrazak secured her hat trick, and Raneem Al Sharif, Seba Tawfiq, and Fatimah Mansour also found the net, further dismantling Jeddah.
Although Jeddah managed to score a consolation goal, it was far from enough to mask the defeat.
Ashleigh Plumptre’s comeback comes on the heels of a narrow 1-0 victory over Al-Ula in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, where she made a brief appearance.
With her outstanding performance, the Nigerian international aims to maintain her momentum as Al-Ittihad prepares to face Al Hilal Women in their next fixture.
