Plumptre makes comeback: excitement builds after injury layoff

The strong defender for the Super Falcons has been eagerly anticipating this moment, Footballrover reports.

In April, Plumptre underwent surgery on her right foot to address a significant injury.

This setback not only sidelined her from club competitions but also prevented her from joining the Super Falcons to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics games in Paris, France.

Last weekend marked a significant period in her recovery as Plumptre took to the pitch in a competitive match for her Saudi Arabian club, Al-Ittihad.

In this fixture against Al-Ula, she made her return as a substitute, contributing to her team’s narrow 1-0 victory on the road.

Although she did not start the match, the 26-year-old centre-back entered during the second half, marking her first appearance in over six months.

Her return was met with so much joy, and she couldn’t contain her excitement after the match.

In a warm message on social media, Plumptre expressed her gratitude to fans and shared her happiness about being back in action.
