Despite relentless pressure, Pillars failed to capitalise further, ending the first half with a slim 1-0 lead.

The tide quickly turned in the second half when 3SC’s Taiye Muritala equalised the score at 1-1, injecting a renewed vigour into the visiting team.

As the clock ticked down, more tension gripped the stadium until Christian Pyagbara shattered Pillars’ hopes with a dramatic goal in the 94th minute, securing a historic victory for 3SC.

Despite a challenging start marred by fatigue and logistical setbacks, Ogunbote praised his players for their commitment and strategic prowess, which ultimately secured the historic victory.

“I give it to God and at the same time appreciate the players. We started poorly because fatigue set in on the players. We just tried to manage the game in the 1st half and in the 2nd half, I think the boys were able to exhibit what they should have done in the first half,” he said.

The Oluyole Warriors will welcome Lobi Star to the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday for another entertaining clash.
