Samuel Odeyobo delivered a good assist against Zhenis on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for his team, FC Elimai, in their Kazakhstan Premier League Round 17 clash.

The 31-year-old defender played all 90 minutes and contributed the opening goal, but his side suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at home, Footballrover reports.
Samuel Odeyobo’s Assist Against Zhenis Sparks Early Hope
It took just 11 minutes for FC Elimai to take the lead at Stadion Spartak, thanks to a smart link-up between Ivan Sviridov and Odeyobo.
The Nigerian defender’s creativity against Zhenis set the tone early, as Sviridov found the back of the net to send the home fans into celebration.

Odeyobo has now registered two goals and two assists in 16 appearances this season — a clear improvement over last season’s one goal in 12 matches. His form continues to shine in a struggling team.
However, despite the bright start, FC Elimai failed to maintain their lead. The second half saw the visitors push harder, and their persistence paid off in the dying minutes.
Late Collapse Costs FC Elimai Dearly
Zhenis mounted a late comeback that left the home side stunned. Elguja Lobjanidze struck in the 89th minute to level the score before setting up Adilio for the dramatic winner just moments later.

The result saw FC Elimai drop to 7th on the Kazakhstan Premier League table with 25 points, only two ahead of Zhenis in 6th.
Odeyobo’s solid performance and crucial assist against Zhenis were completely overshadowed by his team’s third straight game without a win.
The Semey-based club has now recorded two losses and one draw in their last three outings.

FC Elimai will aim to bounce back when they host Zhetysu Taldykorgan on July 26.
