Stanley Kanu wasted no time in lighting up the Czech First League, delivering a stunning Player of the Match performance that lifted FC Zlin to a 3-1 comeback win against Teplice.

The 26-year-old Nigerian footballer came off the bench and flipped the script, notching one goal and two assists to inspire a confident away victory in their league opener, Footballrover reports.
Stanley Kanu Turns Game-Changer in Czech First League Opener
Teplice had taken the lead in the 34th minute through Matej Pulkrab, leaving the visitors trailing 1-0 at halftime.
With things not going to plan, Kanu was introduced after the break to replace Tomas Poznar—and that’s when everything changed.

Just 14 minutes into the second half, Kanu set up Michal Cupák, who calmly finished to level the match at 1-1 in the 59th minute.
It didn’t take long for the momentum to shift fully. Six minutes later, Cupák returned the favour, assisting Kanu to fire FC Zlin into the lead with a clinical finish.
1 Goal, 2 Assists—Kanu Destroys Teplice in Style
With FC Zlin now fully in control, the Nigerian forward wasn’t done.
In the 74th minute, he turned provider once again—this time setting up Cletus Nombil to score the third and final goal that sealed the win over their hosts.
It was a dream start to the season for Kanu, who ended the game with 1 goal, 2 assists, and a stellar 8.7 match rating.

That earned him a well-deserved Player of the Match award on the opening weekend of the Czech Chance League.
Last season, Kanu managed just two goals in 11 appearances.
But this emphatic performance against Teplice could mark a turning point for the talented forward, who is determined to make a bigger impact in his second year with FC Zlin.
With confidence high, Zlin will now shift focus to their next fixture against Slovacko on July 26 as they aim for a strong campaign in the Czech First League.
