Manchester United fans yearning for a return to the glory days of deadly strikers like Ruud van Nistelrooy and David Trezeguet might find solace in the recent comments of club legend Louis Saha, who dreams of seeing Super Eagles top striker at the club.
Saha, a fan favourite during his time at Old Trafford, has passionately called on the Red Devils to make a move for Napoli’s red-hot Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, Footballrover reports.
With Manchester United set for a busy summer transfer window under their new owner, Jim Ratcliffe, strengthening their attacking options is a top priority following a disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Saha believes the Super Eagles star, who has been linked with several European giants after his impressive displays in Serie A, perfectly fits the bill for what United needs.

“My dream summer signing would be Victor Osimhen from Napoli,” Saha revealed in an interview with Gambling Zone.Â
“He would really fit the bill at Old Trafford. If I were them, I’d be doing everything to try and get him from Napoli.”
Saha went on to praise Osimhen’s all-around qualities, highlighting his work ethic, finishing ability, and the confidence he displays on the pitch, comparing him to the legendary strikers he mentioned before.
“His attitude, his work rateâhe is so good in front of goal,” Saha said.Â
Saha stressed that the player has the belief and confidence reminiscent of strikers like David Trezeguet or Ruud van Nistelrooy, who have the ability to keep the ball to their feet.
However, he lamented the decline of proper strikers but concluded that Osimhen was clearly one of the remaining ones.
Osimhen’s goalscoring threats speak for themselves. He was instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A title win in the 2022â23 season, bagging a staggering 26 goals in 32 league appearances.
Even last season, the 25-year-old found the net 15 times in 25 outings to maintain his consistency.
