With their spot in the Super Six already secured, the Jewel of Rivers is determined to end the season on a high note, driven by pride and the promise of match bonuses, Footballrover reports.

Standing tall as the only team in Group B to have clinched qualification for the Super Six ahead of the final round of fixtures, Rivers Angels enter the arena fueled by their recent triumph over arch-rivals Bayelsa Queens.

In an exclusive interview with Rivers Angels Media, defender Ifeoma Ikenokwalu revealed the team’s resolute stance, emphasising their commitment to securing victory not only for their pride but also to relish the allure of match bonuses.

We need the match bonus; it’s very important, and that’s why we are playing. We pray we win on Wednesday so that the match bonus will count for us. We didn’t travel all the way from Port Harcourt to Ekiti to come and lose focus,” she said.

Buoyed by meticulous preparation, Ikenokwalu expressed confidence in her team’s ability to deliver an impeccable performance, stressing their eagerness to seize the moment and emerge triumphant.

Also speaking ahead of the clash later today, Rivers Angels attacker Blessing Okpe, who left an indelible mark with a goal in the previous encounter, exuded optimism.

As a player, I’m here with one target, which is to help my team get the three points. I scored in the first leg, and I expect to score again on Wednesday,” she said.

Okpe dismissed the notion that Rivers Angels have nothing to play for, stressing that every point counts for the team and their profile.

She stressed that they will not underestimate the importance of today’s encounter since they feel every match counts and their reputation is on the line, both individually and as a team.
