Head Coach Whyte Ogbonda praised his players for their resilient performances against a formidable opponent.

He stated that the team performed admirably well from the start but emphasised more on the challenge of facing Delta Queens, the defending champions.

In addition, the coach emphasised how important it was to win 1-0 because it showed the players’ courage and character.

Ogbonda, however, admitted to feeling the pressure to secure the victory, acknowledging the high stakes involved.

We knew that anything less than a win would severely dent our chances of qualifying for the Super Six,” he noted.

The gaffer stressed that the pressure was palpable, especially in the first half, but the girls showed great composure and fought till the end.
